We are
thrilled to announce Ali Vale of Viva Tango will be joining us as a
part of the DJ and teaching line up. Some of you may know Ali, some may
not, either way I will tell you what I know.
Ali Vale BA(Hons) Performance Arts, breathes Argentine Tango. As well
as being a passionate Tango dancer, and Tango music specialist, she
also teaches Tango, performs professionally, and choreographs Tango;
her choreography work includes the critically acclaimed production of
Aspect Theater's 'The Tango Room' in London.
Ali lived for many years in South America where she studied Tango
intensively with late, great, maestro Ernesto ‘Pupy’ Castello.
Performing with him at the prestigious Buenos Aires Milongas, Almagro,
and El Beso.
On her return to Europe she hosted ‘Pupy’ Castello as teacher and
performer, both in London and in Paris. She also assisted and performed
with Osvaldo Zotto during his visits to London.
Ali's career has seen her working with a vast array of artists,
including Miguel Zotto and Milena Plebs and the Tango Por Dos Company;
Carlos Gavito; Pupy Castello; Julio Balmaceda and Corina de la Rosa;
Nito and Elba Garcia, Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena Ermocida.
Driven by her insatiable love of Tango, in 1991, Ali founded and
operated the very first U.K. milonga in London, El Cafetín Porteño.
That same passion made her a natural choice for a performance part in
Alan Parker’s movie Evita.
Ali's position as an ambassador of Tango was officially recognized when
she received the Maestro de Milongueros Award in Buenos Aires, for her
outstanding contribution in promoting Argentinian Tango in Europe. This
passionate milonguera has a playful side too of course, this is clear
to see from the copy of Harpers and Queen Magazine where she featured
as Tango Dancer dancing Tango on a table top!
Ali has taught and performed Argentine Tango all around the world,
including Buenos Aires in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Spain, Germany,
Portugal, France, and of course the U.K.
We are obviously delighted that Ali, who is both a professional,
and a personal friend is bringing that huge wealth of experience to
Kegworth to share some of it with us.
